Digital Preservation and Archiving Policy

The Scientific Journal of the Public Accounting Program ensures the long-term digital preservation of all published articles, guaranteeing their permanent accessibility even in the event of technical failures, data loss, or discontinuation of the editorial platform.

To achieve this, the journal implements the following preservation strategies:

1. Preservation through the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN)

The journal uses the PKP Preservation Network, a digital preservation service developed by the Public Knowledge Project (PKP), which provides distributed and redundant storage of all published content. This service ensures that articles remain accessible even if server failures occur or the journal ceases publication.

2. Internal backups

The editorial team performs periodic backups of the website, database, and published files, ensuring protection against accidental data loss.

3. Self-archiving and institutional repositories

The journal allows and encourages authors, institutions, and university libraries to self-archive the final published version of articles in:

  • Institutional repositories

  • Digital libraries

  • Subject-specific repositories

  • Academic networks

All self-archived versions must include appropriate attribution to the journal.

4. Preservation in the Internet Archive

In addition to the primary preservation system, the journal permits its content to be crawled and stored by the Internet Archive, enhancing long-term availability.

5. Future migration and accessibility

In the event of technological updates or platform migration, the journal will ensure that all published files remain preserved in accessible formats that comply with digital preservation standards.
